Managing the content development, layout and cover for a quarterly magazine was hectic, fun and always a race against the clock. From content planning, page allocation, layout, design, article writing, editing, and approvals, the timeline was critical - but even more critical, ensuring the focus was right. Working with contributors to ensure the right stories were being told. The inside cover story and Mayor's Message were always a Managing Editor article and covered a current hot topic, written by me.

Mayor's Message
As an internal communicator, townhalls, and events are critical to success. Having produced multiple events - one of my favourites includes the opening of the third community hospital-based Gynecologic Oncology Centre in the province.
A press conference and official opening ceremony featured personal anecdotes and a photo opportunity. Staff and local media, both broadcast and print attended. Dignitaries invited included regional MPs, MPPs, Mayors and Regional Chair.
